how can any person with sight answer this question? it's a very good question and is interesting and i would like to ck back and see an answer from a blind from birth person. there 's no way a blind person can see in a dream , they don't have any images stored in their brain to draw from. it would seem they would dream the feelings you talk about

There was a study done on this a few years ago that I can't find on the web right now...
Basically, it showed that a very small percentage (something like 2%) of people blind since birth reported "seeing" images in their dreams. As one other poster stated, most reported dreaming about sounds, feelings, and other sensations that they have experienced during waking hours. The small number that did "see" things in their dreams apparently couldn't describe them very well in words to the researchers, and sometimes couldn't make much sense of the imagery in their dreams (not surprising since they had no context to put it in). They also couldn't describe whether the dreams were color or not, again having no context in which to put colors for comparison.
Those that could once see -- even if they were blinded at a very young age before the brain was fully developed -- all had images in their dreams. Some of the ones that were very young when blinded, just like with the blind-since-birth groups, couldn't describe things very well.
Dreams are usually related to what we experience during waking hours, even if that relationship isn't always very clear.

I think blind people can see dreams. Just because they are blind, doesnt mean they cant see dreams. A dream is in your head. Like an imagination. You dont need to be able to see to see an imagination. When you imagian something, you just see a thought in your head. So I say, yes blind people can see dreams.

Yes I think they do but what do they dream about. If they have been blind all there life than when they are dreaming their dreams maybe weird and uncommon but if they have not always been blind then they can get images from their past. They will dream about the world around them.

If they have seen the word before becoming blind there is a possible way of them seeing dream , but if they were born blind or became blind when they were small i think they will think it in a different image. Thanks

hey there,
the dreams that ppl see when they are sleeping are being generating in their brains which has nothing to do with eyes,
here another question will pop up, like when we dream we see the things we saw in our daily life that our mind has capture an images by using eyes but the blind ppl use their imagination to draw images for things they know using their other senses

Probably given that dreams are not simply written in images, but also in emotions and thought. Also, there are an abundance of images in the collective unconscious which dreamers are often tapped into during dreamtime. I would imagine however that not many sight impaired folk allow their dream matter to translate to cognition in their wake minds, and therefore probably never remember an actual dream.

of course,
but if they have never seen, they might have a different vision of the world and people and colors in their dream.
