If your desertation is for thesis requirement for Master's Degree, two (2) years.That is research for 2 years and another 2 years preparation of the thesis. In other cases, it might be shorter.

It depends. Sometimes the nature of your field determines this. For example, it is well-known that experimental research takes longer than theoretical research. But any way, any dissertation will not take less than 9 months to complete no matter the facilities that you have. Good luck in your research work.
