I suffer from a disease called Gastric Paresis and would benefit greatly if I could use marijuana for nausea control.

First, you should know why marijuana was outlawed in the first place. There were two major reasons. One was because "All Mexicans are crazy and marijuana is what makes them crazy." The other was the fear that heroin addiction would lead to the use of marijuana -- exactly the opposite of the modern gateway myth. You can find references on the subject at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/mj_outlawed.htm

Every major study of the drug laws in the last 100 years has said that the marijuana laws were the product of racism, ignorance, and nonsense. They all said that it should have been legalized long ago. You can find the full text of these studies at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer under Major Studies of Drugs and Drug Policy. The collection includes the largest studies ever done by the governments of the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia, just to mention a few.

In short, there is no credible argument for keeping marijuana illegal. The evidence is so overwhelming that the drug warriors won't even come out to debate the subject anymore.

If you find anyone who thinks it ought to be illegal then you can be sure that they have never read the most basic research on the subject. Read the references above and you will see what I mean. The history of marijuana prohibition is so absurd that people just laugh when they hear the true story today.

Marijuana is less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes, yet those are both legal and marijuana is not. The government wants to keep marijuana illegal because the "War on Drugs" is just too profitable. I read somewhere that marijuana is currently the largest national cash crop, more than the export of all vegetables from the US combined. Think of the money our country could make if we legalized it..

I have been to Amsterdam, and it is a very scary place to be. Open use of illegal narcotics creates more crime. As far as just medicinal purposes, if prescribed by a doctor and purchased in a pharmacy and not grown on your own may be okay, but, this would have to be the only source to be legal. I would doubt that marijuana is the only way for relief. Inhaling smoke does not seem to be a good way to settle a upset stomach.

ABSOLUTELY - marijuana has less documented side effects and legal involvement then alcohol. All the arguments about it are misrepresented.

I watched members of the FDA raid a cancer clinic in California to arrest the "big time" criminals using pot to help them feel physically better as their body is filled with chemicals and radiation.

This is one issue I see in the U S (I guess there are many but...) that creates an outright CRUEL situation.

Good luck with your disease and I say to you - have some pot!!! and VOTE

Hmm, sounds like you just wanna get high. There are other (more safer) anti-nausea drugs on the market. Phenagrin is one that is available by prescription and there are all sorts of OTC drugs available for that.

Marijuana impares your sense of judgement. Could you imagine people wondering around high all the time..in the streets, in public places.

Of course it should be legalized. And, please, save the, "could you imagine people wandering around high all the time" comments. People wander around drunk all the time and that seems to be OK, doesn't it? Let's see. I can get a case of beer and drink all of it. Then, i forget where i am, who I'm with, how i got home, etc. Not to mention, with abuse of alcohol comes liver, heart, kidney and other problems. Meanwhile, it costs billions of dollars a year to treat. This is all OK, but i can't smoke a joint which has few documented health effects and certainly doesn't impair judgment to the degree alcohol does. PLEASE!

Yes it should be legal. It makes no sense to imprison people for what government gets away with.
