Never choose to live alone. You need someone to support and care for you. Ask your best friend in your place to come and share your room if she is also staying in a room.

I have never lived alone so I can not say if I had a problem with cleaning when I lived alone. Before we had kids our house was always tidy although the spare bedroom was a jumble. I vacuumed, mopped and dusted once a week, things were always put away after use and the dishes always washed after each meal and put away once dry. Now with a family it is still pretty much the same but instead of cleaning the house in 3 hours once a week, it takes me the whole week to clean the house once. I often have help to wash the dishes because I keep dropping them and we have a polyceramic sink and they don't bounce on that - they just break. Look at it this way "morethanagame" : you eat good food - tuna and watermelon - a lot better than lots of junk food !

I have always had girl lovers as roommates. Sex seems to soften the edges. Now I`m going to live with my brother. I`m concerned because we have never fought. However being roommates is very stressful and can cause conflict. I don`t have to worry about things getting stolen or anything like that. In my case I`m a clean freak and he`s a little on the messy side. We lean towards afriend as a roomy for the trust issue(important). Nothing will come between friends right? anything is possible.

it depends on individual. Personally i feel that if you can get somebody who is willing to help out and friendly as a room mate is good but the chances may not be high. That's why sometimes I preferred to stay alone rather than getting a roommate coz if we get a bad roommate it is just like a nightmare especially if you are on oversea

look for a room mate it,s cheaper and make shore him has a job there is so many problem that can go wrong like my brother,s friend took off without paying the rent, so my brother had to pay his friends rent as well as his. but i was on my own and i was lonely for not haveing friends, becouse i was new in town. but once i had a firend to share the rent it was easyer. but you need to find some one who you can trust, it,s hard to find one bed room apartments now a days. so i would say being with a room mate.

If you can afford a decent space on your own, do that.
I thought bigger was important at 22. At 23, after four roommates coming and going, often without locking the door, having loud sex, owing me money, leaving hair in the sink and coffee cups in the car, I really enjoyed moving and LIVING all by myself in a 450 sq. ft. one bedroom apartment.
I LOVED LIVING ALONE.

Live alone. Your reasons for being concerned about having a roommate are legitimate ones.

Right now i dont have a roommate.I fear the same thing. And there goes the neverending borrowing of things and the mess left when he/she invites friends over for a drink or movie marathon.huh..worst? i don't know ..
i think its better if its a close sibling.

Live with a friend, or buy a dog/cat. There, problem solved.
