When i start my car and engage 1st gear it sometimes moves with a stutter and the rev's seem to go down to almost nothing. I'm guessing its something to do with ''sparking'' of the spark plugs , but could it be that it needs a winter overhaul? Thanx in advance.

Check plugs and HT leads and distributor cap (If fitted) sounds as if spark is irregular at lower revs I take it its fine when when you have started to move with more than 1500-2000RPM.

if the problem is only in the morning after the car has been standing all night, I would be looking at a cylinder head gasket check the oil and water to see if thay are ok. if the water and oil is a creamy colour theres the problem.
