Chichester, (stayed at the Ship-hotel twice), it's easy to drive to all the places you like to go see from there. (London is easily accessable by train....well, at least in the 70s it was, LOL. Haven't been back to Chichester since, sniff)

Ahhh....I absolutely looooved "Devon Cream Tea", we had some in the garden of a former castle, fabulous.

I'm with you and Dan, I love North Devon, especially the Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Croyde and Braunton areas. I've spent some really good times down there!

In England, it may ought to be Needle factor, close to the hollow of Horcum. After a killer climb, the bench, in basic terms available strolling, promises an surprising view, and you experience a real experience of being completely on my own, as so few human beings bypass there. I project you to find it on OS map (OL27)

I haven't got one! I move every couple of years but I haven't found anywhere I would like to stay. London was great when I was a teenager but I wouldn't bring my kids up there
