I've noticed in a lot of Japanese horror films recently(One missed call, Ju-on, Kairo) that theres this ongoing thing about taping doors shut after someone dies in a room or house. Is there some tradition to doing that or what?

Maybe it's so their spirit won't escape or be chanelled somewhere it shouldn't. So that it can pass over in a peaceful way when it's ready.
Just a theory!
