We own and use a domain name for our website and company email ( it's a .com) and yet have found a small company in America is using the EXACT same domain name for their company emails - this is shown on their website and we have phoned them to check their email addresses also. How technically can this happen and can they legally do this? Any advice would be appreciated. Our domain registration company (uk2.net) says they are allowed to do this?!

Do a whois.net lookup and see who started their site first. You might be second. I have never heard of anyone copy writing an email address. There is no one looking over the net like an arbitrator or anything and I really guess when we venture into this territory that anything goes. What I do know is that when we register our dot com's it is supposed to be unique so you may want to ask your provider who sold you the domain name.

the people who have the same email address ending as your website is probably an AOL sorta thing. They can get whatever domain name they want it does not have to be an actual site like justin@spendstoomuchtimeonthecomputer.com or something like that hope this helps :)

There are technically complicated ways to allow this situration your describe, however chances are that this is not the case. They would have to go through great legnths to make that happen.

Please post the websiate domain name and web page and I can prove that your email domain name is different in the underlaying code, or that this is not issue.

commerce slander is between the few aspects the place defamantion suits make experience -- because of the fact there are provable damages. What you will possibly desire to do is seek advice from the consumers who informed you they have been informed "undesirable issues" approximately your business enterprise. Get the "undesirable issues" intimately & writing & signed. And get the call of the actually person who suggested them. If there are actually real mistruths that led a client or business enterprise to disclaim you company you have the information you like. no person likes doing this & your consumers won't prefer to get in contact; yet commerce slander can kill a small company.
