assuming you suffered no accidents (cuts or fractures)this last few days and that you have no muscular weakness
whatsoever, you may have a mild compression injury to the ulnar nerve ( which supplies the sensation to your aforementioned parts ). it may arise from sleeping on your side too long such that your nerves become compressed.this normally clears up a few hours to a few days later.if this doesnt clear up within 3 days, i advise you to seek professional help since it maybe indicative of a far larger problem... email me if youve got several other symptoms and maybe we could find out the true problem.

i would say that the two most likely causes are a pinched nerve and a stroke
age is not really a factor in strokes so don't just laugh off that one
i would do as the man at the top there said and try warm water as tested with your other hand or by some one else and massage after that if there is no improvement you should either make an appointment to see you doctor or go the er

Chances are it is a trapped nerve or similar. I lost sensation in a finger-tip some time ago, I mentioned it to someone and they said 'oh yeah - you will probably have that for a year...' and I did!
It's not carpel tunnel as I think this causes shortening of the sinews and the fingers to curl. However, you should seek professional help in case it is a circulation problem.
Hope this helps

The answer you received about the ulnar nerve sounds most likely. I have same symptoms constantly now due to dog attack where dogs teeth injured my ulnar nerve in my left hand. The discomfort/tingling is only in the half of the hand of the pinky and ring finger. My injury to my ulnar was at my elbow, so try rubbing from there down or repetetive motion of elbow bending. You probably slept on it wrong. Good luck.

have the same issue but i also have times when the whole hand feels numb and tingly. has gradually gotten worse in the last 20 yrs do to work but they'll never believe it.
can use a support for the wrist when you sleep to help with inflammation in the wrist.
do some strength building exercise for the wrist and hand but don't over do.

Yes, it could be carpal tunnel.
But, it could also be a circulation problem,
where the blood is not getting to your hands correctly.
You should see your Doctor. :-) Hope this helps.
