Day dreaming is not necessarily problem as it can be a calming and creative time. However, if it interferes with your work and other aspects of your life in a way that is unacceptable, it would be useful to find out more about why it is happening. A psychotherapist and/or hypnotherapist may be able to help here.
What others have said about a stimulating job is also important; are you able to pay full attention to what you are doing and to make progress in tasks? You do not say what you feel about the day dreaming - it could be quite pleasant; you do say however that you want to put a stop to it - help from a well-qualified professional may be valuable.

I spent more time day dreaming and reading stories as a child than I did in reality as my reality was so harsh. when I was fourteen I realised that I had a choice to go on like this forever and lose myself in my mind or to try to stop, come back to planet earth and join the world.
I was frightened by the spectre of the end result and yet also very frightened of having to empower myself to face the real world. I do have many mental health problems now which came from that time. It was the least worst thing I could do but has left me with a lot of involuntary dissociation. My case is unusual but I imagine that there are also consequences to what you are doing too.
Maybe asking yourself what you are escaping from? And what would it take to keep you here?
I think on a prcatical level some caffeine may help and also rougher textured clothes and stronger stouter shoes for getting grounded. Some people say eat root vegetables to ground. Have massages and think of what helps you stay in your body rather than head.
Tapping your forehead whenever youpull yourself out of a fantasy might remind you to pull out again next time - the trick is to think of getting in touch with the physical body.

Hey who care if your day dreaming. As long as you get your work done on time so your boss doesn't freak. Oh ya and don't crash your car!!!! Why not day dream if you don't what is there to look forward to accomplishing in the future. Maybe it's something to work towards in your job or personal life at home. There is nothing wrong with a little dream just don't try dreaming and driving!!!

My wager is which you could not have a moist dream, whilst day dreaming. Their must be some "stimulation" (or style of friction). i'm confident the girls only love while the adult adult males get no longer common-on's at school, distinctly if its somebody that they locate beautiful/alluring. for sure, as we talk, the girls are in all probability text textile messaging (decrease than their table, with out the instructor seeing) and doing issues to teach those adult adult males on

Well Day dreaming happens from lack of sleep or boredom.
To get rid of these either sleep more or just get the habit of it out your head.
You cant stop them completely, I would rather be day dreaming then listening to Algebra.
So if your really concerned then drink lots of sugary things, carbohydrates to make you more active and hyper.

Probably best not to try too hard to stop (as long as it's not causing serious problems). There'll be a (good?) reason for your dreaming. Don't be too sure of what 'reality' and/or 'here and now' is or means.

try going in reverse of how u got to the spot ur in now? it has become a habit & like most habits use some thing else to replace it with. that's how accidents happen. letting ur mind wonder when it should be on what u r doing.

Dreams are a part of reality. There is no need to do anything. You may be a genius at work.
