In the early 1960's Salford Rugby club toured France wearing red shirts and became known as "The Red Devils". Manager Sir Matt Busby liked the sound of it, thinking that a nasty devil is more intimidating to opponents than angelic babes. He declared Manchester United should also be known as the "The Red Devils" and soon the club began incorporating the devil logo into match programmes and scarves. In 1970 the club badge was redesigned, but now with a cheeky wee devil in the centre holding a pitch-fork.

They have a red devil on their club badge. The official club crest on blazers (for example at the Cup Final) is the Coat of Arms of Manchester.

It become an offencive term interior the early years. I rather doubt any of the human beings who use it at present quite understand what the offence become, in the event that they do then they in all danger think of it quite is humorous to call them by applying that call. that's often the greater youthful childrens who do circulate by applying that factor era besides. i are not getting indignant by applying it, in basic terms locate it stupid to be uncomplicated. That alongside with each and all the followers who call different communities "guy $hitty", "Chelski", "Liverpoo", "@ssnal" and so on.. all that's in basic terms stupid and immature. Liver poultry is the ideal occasion of what I propose by applying that. "i do no longer supply plenty value to them". What a shaggy dog tale.
