mm and calibre are two different ways of expressing the same thing the diameter of the bullet. mm is metric calibre is imperial (now) us as Britian is metric. MM is milimeters calibre is fractions of an inch ie 50 cal is half an inch diameter

m.m. is the "calibre" of the projectile (bullet) That is it's diameter given in millimetres, eg 7.62 NATO, 5.56mm etc. This can also be expanded by the length of the round (projectile AND casing)which is also given in mm i.e 7.62X54 NATO where the projectile is 7.62mm in diameter X 54mm long overall. 7.62 equates as .308 cal and 5.56 works out to be .223 cal

It is the diameter of the bullet & also the diameter of the barrel though which the bullet travels.
