I live on Oahu and I like it. Especially since I live more of the suburbs away from the Honolulu rush. But I lived in Hilo on the Big Island for a number of years and I loved it since I'm more into nature and science. Unfortunately, there is a lack of good jobs.
As for Asians, yes, there are many and contributed largely to the culture in Hawaii. For example, we follow Japanese rule and take off our footwear before entering a house. Hawaii's local food is asian influenced. You can go to the supermarket and at least one aisle is Asian food. Finding Asian food and goods is very easy.
As for people, I believe Asians are still the largest group in Hawaii. Of course, intermarriage is very common in Hawaii (I'm about 8-9 different ethnicities) so it's slowly moving towards a mixed more than one ethnic group. After all, Hawaii is the first majority minority state in the US.

I go go back and forth from sacramento and oahu I love hawaii and I love California many asians yes
