to be honest with you, it all depends on what you will use it for...

I have a 30 gig for car use only which works perfect, it never leaves the car except to get new songs, and

I have an ipod nano that i use when i go to the gym, running, beach, biking, and my other activities, the reason for the nano is that it fits in my pocket and it's not big and bulky in my pants pocket...

just ask yourself what you will be using it for and base your decision on that...

It depends, what are you going to do with it?

If you want a portable player to wear, then nano.

If you need a 2nd hard drive get the video.

My husband and I have 3 ipods. I bought him the 1st generation windows version back in 2002, it is a big clunky box and holds 20 gig. He used to wear it on planes and such and he actually would knock it off his hip walking through the narrow aisles. It survived.

For xmas 2006, I got him the 8 gig nano and he got me the 4 gig. Do you know you can load songs in itunes and "unclick" songs so they are not currently on your nano. I am just over half full on my pink nano, and I have about 20% of my itunes songs "unclicked".

I still have many cd's to load, the ones where I only want 1-3 songs, so I will get to them when time allows. I think the 4 gig will be fine for me.

I got him the 8 gig because black is his color and the 4 gig didn't come in black. lol

I also got all the accessories; car/home charger, 2 car tuners, 2 clock radios/nano dock, an undermount kitchen cabinet clock radio/nano dock , the monster cable to hook any of the 3 up to our home stereo, skins with armbands, and an ishok case. By the way do not buy any accessories from apple, because you can buy cheaper and sometimes better from other sources. Try radioshack sales and these online vendors.

If our next house has a pool (we are moving soon and i'm pretty sure it will) I will get the otter case and the waterproof earbuds.

Hope I helped answer your question.

There is no good reason at all of getting an iPod (unless you have a fetish for the overpriced items). There are many better mp3 players around, most of them are better quality and offer better value for money. BUT THEY ARE NOT THAT POPULAR!

I will recommend you Sandisk Sansa mp3 player. It has the similar size as the iPod nano (and the Sansa's screen is even bigger!), and it is much better. The baterry works 8 hours longer than the one in the iPod nano, and it's replaceable. You can make voice recordings.
You can buy a 2GB version for as little as 77.90 quid, if you'll follow the link below:

It depends...
If you want to have songs, photos videos, music videos then go for the ipod video. It is nice but too bulky to carry around.

The ipod nano is good if you only want songs and photos and it is small in size and easy to carry round.

I think that you should go for the ipod nano 4GB. I use one myself. It is small. It is also very easy to cary and handy as well and cheap. Video is to bulky and need constant charging as compared to the video.

I have the 30g, and now wish I had bought the 80g. Size matters, go for the 30!
