I've been an aspiring singer for many years and finally have an opportunity to work w/someone who has been in the industry for many years. My problems is, I'm scared and unsure if I'm wanting to do this anymore. I know I should take this opportunity cause I've been waiting for so long but am I feeling this way cause I'm scared I won't do a good job or am I scared cause I'm supposed to go down a different path.

just take the experience, if you decide not to go into music that's fine, at least you'll have a fun experience to remember. if you don't you'll always regret it. remember just because you have this experience you are not required to go into music. just do it, have fun and you'll figure out what you want, it just takes time

I'm a songwriter and years ago I won a song competition and had to perform the winning song on a concert in front of 800 people. I wasn't used to singing in public either

Someone suggested to me that I go to Karaoke somewhere to get used to singing in front of people. Sure, it was very scary at first but then you enjoy yourself and just want to keep doing it.
The concert went really well too.

I now sing in a band every weekend and have been for 6 years. It still gets a little scary at times, depending on the situation but I'm doing something that I have always wanted to do and am a better person for the experience.

Go for it !!!!!!!!!! You'll love it

Probably both. If you feel like you got this chance for yourself then take it. The worst that can happen is this person says "Thanks for coming but...." You won't change or explode so have fun and enjoy this chance.
