I have just recently put in the Nuva Ring and I looked through all the instructions and could not find any details about when it takes affect and I'm protected from pregnancy.

I used the nuva ring back in June or July, i think it said that it takes about a week to kick in. I really wouldn't recommend the ring thought. i quit it because it made me sick to my stomach and I felt very weak. i hope i helped.

It's supposed to take effect immediately, but I would be careful for the first thirty days to let your body get used to the hormones. It's best to err on the side of caution. I know people who have gotten pregnant on the Ring.

i used the ring and i loved it...best birth control i ever used...i am using an iud now,the plastic one and don't like it near as much. but, this is much cheaper and lasts for 5 years.
