i've only ever heard the term "Bay Area" in reference to the San Fransisco area in California, maybe the rapper you are thinking of isn't from tennessee

Hi
"The BAY" is an area here in Memphis. Its technical name is Frayser. But due to the location everyone calls it the bay. So I can see how it sounds confusing coming from the group. But if you are from the area and hear "The Bay" you know exactly what they are referring to.
They are shooting a reality show in Cali right now. So you will not only hear more from them but you will see them I believe on MTV or VH1.

Maybe bc Memphis is an acronym for something else. Look it up, I know Memphis Bleek started the term.

true Memphis is on the Mississippi River but Memphis has a lot of sub divisions and on of those divisions is called Frazier aka the bay area. It a Memphis thing
