I think it is the first and last letters of a word so even if you jumble the letters in between them, your mind will still read the word as it should be.

I don't think it's true for everyone, but there sure are a lot of people in a hurry these days. Does that mean you left out the word 'and' on purpose?

I tend to believe that the mind remembers the more recent information, and therefore, yes this could be somewhat true.
