I'm felling so depressed in this year's college.i'm the most quiet person in class who always gots 80 and above...why is that those smart people doesn't want to talk or talk about me .Some told me that I'm so dumb,innocent,straightforward,horrible at sports,too much kind......all of these makes me feel so much depressed and insecure towards anyone else whenever i walk outside the house....What should I do now??/I'm only 17 yr old girl

Well you can't be too dumb or you wouldn't be in college.

Remember that the reason you are in college is to learn - not to endlessly party and seek social status.

Instead of yearning to be friends with people who sound like ignorant snobs, make friends with nice people. Be open, smile, and be friendly. Join a club. And don't worry about it so much. Studying comes first.

It is natural in a group especially maturing people to be alert with a member's status. If you are too brilliant for your classmates, expect the attitude. But if you try to approach anyone and start conversation, their judgement that you are somewhat a snub will change.

Where do you feel the insecurity and depression? I am sure it is in your little self that is where we all feel; you need to realize you are not your little self. Your conscious should apply force over your little self to disconnect her from worrying what people say or think, you are not dump, without you the universe is incomplete.

Feel lucky that you have one friend. I've had the same friend all my life. Lots of acquaintances but only one true friend. Good luck
