Allow me to explain:

a year or two ago, I think that very few US people knew who Sen. Obama was. But now very many people say that he's "a front runner in the Democrat's Presidential Campaign" or some jazz like that. I'd like to know WHY???

He is one hell of a public speaker. He is also incredibly smart. He is the formal editor of the Harvard Law Review, which is not a job for the lighthearted. He has raised a ton of money for Democrats to use in the 06 election, and toured nationally, proving that he can raise funds for 08. He's the only person in the running for the Democratic ticket that looks palatable. Hillary is too insincere and opportunistic.
His personal story drew a lot of initial attention, because in 04, America was so sharply divided, and his 04 speech used his background story to show how different cultures can come together. It was what a lot of people wanted to hear at the time, and he is able to deliver a speech and understands television media unlike any other politician since JFK.

Barack Obama is the anti Clinton for the Democrats. He represents a changing of the guard in the Democratic party as well. But mostly, his popularity is driven by the media which many people follow like sheep. Soon this year , we will see what this man has to be a leader of our great nation. Popularity can turn on a dime quickly. Some negative ads , driven by the Clinton's will make an attempt to destroy this mans political career.

I'm not sure; it's probably because he's different. He's only been in national politics for 2 years (before that he was an Illinois state senator representing Chicago). He's considerable less corrupt that 90%+ of the politicians you see on cable news, and seems like a friendly, down-to-earth guy.

Maybe that's exactly the person we need right now.

America is not! The American media is.The American media is so influential in this age that they dictate what a large percentage of people think, know and believe they want. The media has no concern as to whether the man is qualified or even stable(there is a question on that one). They care only that he fits a "Liberal progressive" mold,He is not white he is liberal and they can sell him.
Obama is a former drug user, has no real record of action, has no strong personality, the media can write on him what they wish.

He delivered a fantastic speech at the last Democratic convention.
He is bright, a gifted speaker, black and has a Muslim sounding name...why wouldn't the Democrats be excited. Also, he is from the "heartland" a Chicago guy with personality plus. i think he is a shoe-in for the V.P. nomination!

Because he hates the United States and is a communist, the liberal leftist extremist media adores B. Hussein Obama. The same communists actively try to hide his real name as well.

Because he has no history to attack. (Or little. He is clearly a globalist which is enough to turn me off of him.)

Having no history equates to no experience, however, which is a drawback.
