Possibly the term "betty" to describe a "hot chick" came from its use to describe Bettie Mae Page (born April 22, 1923), more commonly known as Bettie Page or Betty Page, who was an American model and pin-up girl, active mostly in the 1950s. She is said to have been photographed more than Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford combined.
