SORRY - THIS IS A BIT LONG - BUT INTERESTING!
Some of them are a lot more recent than you'd think - and one recent one is actually of historic value to London Underground train fanatics because their photos of an area around Brent and Colindale (north west London) clearly show a train on the northbound track just north of Colindale station.
Nothing unusual about this you might say BUT this particular train also clearly shows the red painted front (leading end pointing towards Edgware) but the train has only FIVE carriages, and the rear of the train does NOT have the red end which proves that is not a normal rear carriage. (The Northern line was by that time running six-car trains of "1995" stock with the cab ends being painted red). Research has shown that these five cars were in actual fact the front part of the train which was derailed at Camden Town a few days earlier causing an almost complete shut-down of the line between Euston and Edgware. The damaged rear carriage was removed "piecemeal" from the site, and the remaining five cars were eventually moved under their own power from Camden Town to Edgware depot on MONDAY 20th OCTOBER 2003, and by sheer coincidence, this was the train that was photographed by Google on its journey ON THAT VERY DAY!
I don't think there's ever going to be a more positive way of identifying the date any particular photographic trip than this!
I've just realised that we're now in 2007, so 2003 isn't as recent as I thought! (Nonetheless, it's an actual DATE !)

By looking at my mother's house, they were taken before 2003 and likely after 1995. I can see some improvements in her house made and some that were not yet visible.
(I assume that the pictures are composites from many different photos and times.)

The pictures were taken over a period of time, with (generally) ones of the countryside being the oldest, and city ones being the more recent ones showing larger changes. It's all ongoing... ....there is no specific year.
