I have always had a fascination with the state of Alaska. What's it like to live there?

the mountains are on steroids, the fish are plentiful, endless outdoor recreation activities, midnight sun, northern lights, beautiful scenery, and many employment opportunities.

expensive (depending on where you live). some places are fly-in only. very dark in the winter depending on where you live as well.

I grew up in Homer, Alaska, and moved to Anchorage, Alaska when I turned 17. Unfortunately, I had to move to Alabama for work, but my heart will always be in Alaska.
It's absolutely beautiful, with crisp and clean air. The mountains are gorgeous, and there's so much to do. It's not as desolate as you might think. Our largest city has at least 250,000 people, so there's shopping and bookstores and trendy night life, too.
You should visit sometime!
