Many computer related certifications can be completed in less than a year if you go to a specialty school.
I'm sure the list of vocational certifications that can be completed in a year or two is very long.
And to be totally honest, most of the learning that goes into a 4 year degree has very little to do with preparing you to work in your chosen field. I think the majority of college education is about teaching you to think and analyze.
