i believe you are talking about RAM and CD-ROM. RAM is the memory of the system used to store programs currently used by your computer. the CD-ROM is the information on a CD disk and is read-only, the computer cannot write anything to it. So when you play a CD the music is loaded into RAM and played.

Internal ROM is normally the "read only memory" located on a semiconductor or "chip".... usually a simple instruction set.
CD-ROM is the name give to an optical disk reader with no ability to manipulate, change or erase the data on a CD....can only play or read them.
