Do you suspect your wife of cheating? Has she ever cheated? If she has no history and you have no suspicions of cheating it is possible that your baby may inherited dimples from somewhere in your illustrious family lines. It could come from either side of the family. Even as far back as your gr/gr/gr/ grandparents. Ask your parents or hers if there is anyone in the family that may have had dimples.

Genetics and heredity are an awesome and most wonderous thing.

No that is silly, I could see if you both had blue eyes and had a brown eyed child, because two recessive colors can not make a dominant brown color. You probably have cousins or other family members with dimples as well as people in her family. I wouldn't get worked up about it. Other than that does the baby have any of your traits. I had some one say to me - are you sure that's your husband child because she was lighter than my first child. You never know what genes will pop up in your children.

Do you have any reason to suspect her of an affair? I can't stand it when people look at babies and say, "He looks nothing like you, does he?" casting doubt and suspicion. I'm not a genetics major but I believe that dimples can appear on people randomly. If you're really bothered by it, you can always fork out the thousand dollars it takes to get a paternity test...or go on Jerry Springer.

Think of this, though. The minute you cast accusations on her, the marriage will change forever. Most times the one that accuses is the guilty one, casting the shadow on someone else. Tread softly because your marriage and the respect that is there can vanish with one unprovoked accusation.

NO. 99.999% of the time I hear people say this and cause HUGE problems when it turns out it is their child. (I watch a lot of court shows) If you are truly concerned get a Paternity Test but if the only reason that you think she cheated is because your baby has dimples thats just ridiculous. Also did you know baby fat can cause dimples?

Babies look different from birth to 18. My husband and I just had a boy and I have to say that his face changes everyday. The dimple does not mean that she cheated on you. Every human has his/her own distinctions, even identical twins.

No. Maybe the kid is a mutant. It could have been mutated by aliens, or by broccolli contaminated with insecticides. Your testicles could have been transplanted when you were too young to remember and you are shooting another guy's bullets.

Basically, I'm saying you are little paranoid, but not in an imaginative way, and you are not being nice to your poor wife. Try relax a bit, and work on building more trust with her.

No! babies have both genetic traites from both parents and sometimes this mix can create their own traites. babies will not always look exactly like mum or dad they are their own person but this dimple doesnt mean she's cheated and you need to forget it and get on with loving your wife and bonding with your new baby

GROW UP! Our newborn daughter did not look anything like her mother or me. As she grew she changed and now looks has features from both my wife and me. She now is grown, married and has a baby daughter that strongly resembles her mom.

Your wife needs your love, support and assistance with the baby and help around the house. Be a good husband and daddy. You wont regret it.

I wouldn't say yes to that question. If there is doubt there just go and have a paternity test done and find out that the little one is yours or he isn't yours. But understand that you will not be trusted the same as you are now after doing it.
