In Australia, we mine iron ore, almost all of which is used to produce steel. This process needs lots of people to run it. In China, people work for far lower wages than they do in Australia. This means that it is cheaper for Australians to sell the iron ore to China, and then buy steel from them, than it would be to produce steel in Australia. There are examples like this everywhere.

On a personal level, the internet is a huge factor. Especially for entertainment etc. I can download a gig from a small group performing on the other side of the planet. Without globalization, I would never have heard of them, and they would have never had the opportunity to sell me a CD.

1. Globalisation has affected my life by providing me with a job (I have worked for two American owned companies)

2. From my view globalisation is a good thing - it provides better market opportunities, better growth, more market penetration, etc

3. Its certainly made my life better as I would have been unemployed otherwise

4. I want to qualify this by saying that, as with everything in life, there are positives and negatives with globalisation. For me, personally, it has been good - but any social structure based solely on capitalism is doomed to failure unless you accept that a poverty gap is inevitable. This takes us into a whole different discussion.
