I bought a medium hoodie and i would like to shrink it to a small. I just washed it but i didn't shrink much. It's 80% cotton and on the inside of the sleeves its lined with polyester. How could I shrink it? Do you guys think if i soak it in hot water and without drying wringing it out and getting some of the water out just put it in the dryer? Or will that ruin the jacket?

hi there! with my knowledge of fabrics, the addition of polyester to cotton makes the fabric more wrinkles free. it also makes it less shrinklable----but-----i feel if you launder it in a little warmer water that warm (about half hot and half warm) then dry it in the dryer on high heat, being sure to take is straight from the dryer when dry (causing the wrinkles to fall free). i feel that your jacket make shrink a little more........ best of luck and hope this works for you vicki

Try washing it in HOT water, and drying it on the hottest setting your dryer has. If your washer has only cold rinses, put it in the washer without detergent, and take it out before the rinse.
