It's about time, PITT needs new blood, hopefully a young agressive coach, not some old fart.

The Guy just won a Superbowl LMAO, i mean, how about a little freegin loyalty. IF not for Rothlisberger trying to imitate Evel Kieneval on that bike, the Steelers would be in Playoffs right now.... YOu my friend are going to be one of those same schmucks who are whining and bitching when whoever replaces Cowher has 6 wins next year.

There is something to be said about stability in a coach and football fmily. Cowher and the Rooney's had a winnning formual. Ben R was the fly in the ointment. When you have been trying to win for so many years, the win is anti-clim --You just can't fight like tht agin with no certainty Ben will deliver. Just can't take it. This isn't just some issue for a fickle fan --this is Cowher sanity. Cowher is saying world give me a break. Let me breathe.
Russ Grimm --- New Coach..Players love him and can win with him. He's got reputation bigger than life with the players.

That is a bit harsh. When you look at all the talent that Pittsburgh lost over the years in free agency to bigger market teams, I can't think of many NFL coaches that would have done as well as Cowher did in his position. The only knock that I would have against him would be all those AFC championship games that he lost. He may not be the NFL's best coach, but he has done a great job for Pittsburgh. I'm afraid they will struggle to find someone who can fill his shoes.

First off Cower was the second best thing to happen to the Steelers and he is in his prime and not old. I wish him the best in Carolina and Fox has to be getting nervous after a sub par season and a premiere coach living in that state and Bill will dominate the NFC. As for the new coach Grimm would be a great coach but he will be to Conservative.
They will go with Ken because he seems to have a knack for game planning. the real ? is will Dick LeBeau stick around he is one of the best D Coordinator in the league. That could be key to future success for either coach.

You obviously must not be a Steeler Fan. He's 49 years old. There are coaches that are in their late 70's. How can you say he's old. With age comes wisdom. Me being a Pittsburgh fan am sorry to see him going.

This question is another example of how quickly Pittsburgh fans will turn their backs on their athletes/coaches. What is next from this guy draft a QB to replace Big Ben because he one 1 bad season?

Yeah, the Steelers really have had lousy luck with coaches since 1969. Only two of em & they only managed to win 5 SB titles! Maybe the next coach can be a winner.(Are you fu**ing crazy?)

I think the Steelers' will stay in the family and hire offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt as the new head coach.
