Because animals have no wrongs to make right. They don't need time to correct themselves coz they can't do wrong

Technically dogs can live to older than we are. If a dog lives to be 7 years old in human years it would be 49 in dog years. If it lived to be ten it would be 70. If a dog reaches 15 and is still alive then it would be 105 years old in dog years. If they live longer than that then they have actually passed us in the number of years we live.
Because of the way they live their lives they actually age faster than we do. A pup has already started learning to walk when it is but a week to two weeks old while a human baby doesn't learn that until they are around a year old. Pups are usually completely weaned and eating dry dog food by the time they are 6 months old. Human babies on the other hand sometimes suckle utill well after their first year. And if they are eating food then they are eating stuff that is mushed up to make it easier to swallow. Pups have to be able to eat meat of the bone by 6 months because the mother can't mash the food up for them. Dog's also age faster because they have more natural enemies than humans. A pup has to be able to defend its self at a young age so other animals won't eat it. Thus they preserve their lines and keep themselves from becoming extinct. If 3 out a liter of 7 pups died that greatly reduces the number of dogs able to reproduce. And then if 2 more dogs were killed before they reproduced then the number has been reduced even further. They live as many years as we do but in a more compact amount of time.

Some dogs and cats do live to be 20.

There are so many animals with different lifespans, it's hard to say why. Some birds and tortoises live over 100 years. Hampsters usually have a lifespan of about 6 years.

I guess that is one of the great mysteries God gave us. We don't have to know everything, and I don't think we are meant to know everything, but it is fun to ponder.

I've had a dog and a cat that saw 20. The reason is simple... they age faster. Tortoises age slower, parrots... about the same as humans. It's in the genes.
