It wont effect you getting pregnant at all. I smoked for many years and I am now pregnant with no problem whatsoever. Its best to stop before you consider getting pregnant. I did it was a little rough for the first few days but well worth it. Good luck.

I don't think it makes females infertile but I do know for a fact that if you're smoking with your guy that can hurt your chances because smoking weed definitely decreases a mans potency if I may.. It does kill off many of his sperm. I really don't believe that smoking weed will kill yours girl cuz I'm right with you! I'm also on bc so at least you don't have that problem because then it would take you quite awhile. Now if you are trying to concieve asap then I would suggest your man detox his body by taking 6 100mg niacin pills (It's like a vitamin, but he will be scratching a lot because it burns) and drink plenty of water then get on a healthy protein diet and he should have a normal sperm count pretty soon. Or if you really want to know for sure just talk to a free clinic nurse or see your DR.

Oh my god, these answers are bad. Deformed babies??? Oh, please. The first thing you should know is that most of the people who answer these questions are woefully ignorant and have never read the most basic research.

The biggest study of the health effects was done by Kaiser Permanente. They surveyed the long-term health records of 65,000 patients. They found no difference between the health records of those who smoked pot versus those who didn't.

There have been more than 150 million people who have smoked pot in the last few decades in the US. About half of them are women. There is no epidemic of women who can't get pregnant or who have deformed babies because of marijuana.

You can find a ton of research on the health effects of marijuana at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer The collection includes the largest government commission reports ever done. They all say the same thing -- marijuana is not a significant health threat to the vast majority of users. There is no evidence that it interferes with women getting pregnant.

Stop worrying. Read the research and don't listen to the ignorant people who will tell you that it will make you sterile and have ugly babies. They used to believe that marijuana would turn you into a bat. Honest, that was said by the US Official Expert on marijuana -- testifying in court, under oath. That's how this nonsense got started. You can read the history of why it was outlawed at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/mj_outlawed.htm It is a funny and completely ridiculous story.

You are definately not infertile from weed. I smoked A LOT, probably as much or more than you. I got pregnant two weeks after going off the pill! It may take you longer than that, but I can assure you you're good to go!

Don't know what the effects on you would be, but you might want to ask your doctor as it is a FACT that marijuana can effect the fertility of women and that doesn't mean it makes her MORE fertile. Here is some info...The use of marijuana has the potential for even more serious consequences for a female’s reproductive system. Since a female is born with a lifetime supply of eggs, when these are damaged, there are no replacements. This may create fertility problems when a woman gets married and wants to have children. Marijuana acts on the female reproductive system in various other ways:

Decreases the level of female hormones
Defective menstrual cycles occur three times more frequently than in non-users
Normal functions of ovaries can be altered
THC can accumulate in breast milk
The hazards of marijuana smoking for females increase during pregnancy. Not only does the mother hurt herself, but she can also hurt the unborn baby. Research has shown that the offspring from pot smoking mothers grow more slowly and are more likely to have learning difficulties. Mothers who breast-feed and smoke pot pass 90% of the chemical THC to their baby through their milk.

And obviously micg has no clue...or has been smoking it so long that pot's effects on the brain have begun to manifest.

And the kitten got pregnant AFTER she got off the pill...LMAO I'm not a pot smoker I got pregnant TWICE while ON the pill Obviously your fertility was affected...LMAO

Stop smoking has nothing to do with your pregnancy. Only difference is your child may be affected medically (deformed) due to your smoking.
