Yes I would give it back. Have done so on several occasions. Amazing the looks of joy and relief on a child's face when their Christmas money is returned.

Give it back, if I saw who dropped it.
I found $20 on the stairs outside here once, and there was NO ONE around, anywhere. I kept it :-))

give it back, integrity and honesty pays. maybe the person may let you keep it because you're such an honest person. but if you really don't want to take the chance of not getting the money or a word of thanks at the very least just leave it where it is.

I have actually done this several times,,I always give it back..I believe in what goes around comes around, one day I dropped my own money and it would have been so easy for this kid who picked it up to walk away but he didn't he returned it to me, as he walked away I heard him mumble,"why did I do that." :)

I would call out to them, and even chase them with the money.
Now, If I found a bundle of cash, and there was no way of finding the owner, I would keep it and consider it a gift.
