Brandon Webb is already there ace. Randy Johnson is old, but if he stays healthy he can get the job done. it will be easier for him because he is back in the NL. He want have to eat up as much innings. Randy Johnson will make a great number 3 starter. He could have decent record. The division is going to be tougher now though. The Padres, and Giants made some big moves. I think the Diamondbacks will come in 3rd place.

Randy Johnson is going to do sub-par in Arizona. He's clearly not the same pitcher he was 10 years ago, but he can still get batter's out. He is in the weaker hitting National League which will benefit his win total. However, he is on the Diamondbacks which will provide plenty of losses for him. I think 10-12 is a good guesstimate for Randy Johnson in 2007.

Not good. Hes old and hes coming off back surgery. Hes not the pitcher he once was. I dont think it was the ny pressure that got to him. I guy thats been a star pitcher in the league as long as he has and won a world series against the yankees. It wasnt the pressure. It was the age and injuries. The only reason he had such a good record in ny was because the batting order put up big numbers for him all the time. Which he is not gonna get in arizona. Randy johnson is done this was a great move for the yankees to unload him, very bad move for arizona.

Randy Johnson moving back to Arizona. He didn't do outstanding in New York and don't expect him to do as well as he did with the World Series Team Arizona Diamondbacks. His age is catching up to his arm. still think he can win quite a bit of games though.

He is still a strong veteran presence that any club would like to have. He is overpaid, though, for the level of pitching he can give a team now. He still is a good pitcher, but no longer ranks among the elite pitchers in the game. He has lost his dominance and possibly, his confidence. He will still win around 12-15 games, given decent run support, but he is now a pale shadow of his former self. I personally think he has not retired yet because he wishes to reach 300 wins.

Randy Johnson is 43 yrs. old and coming off another back surgery. He is coming off his worst season in the major leagues.
Johnson posted the worst full-season ERA of his career;
He posted his worst strikeouts-per-nine mark since 1989;
He posted his worst strikeout-to-walk ratio since 1994;
He posted his worst walk rate since 1998;
His innings total declined for the second straight season;
For only the third time in his career, opponents slugged better than .400 against him;
He posted his lowest groundball-fly ball ratio since 1992;
Although he is no longer facing powerhouses like the RedSox, Johnson is declining. Lucky for the Diamondbacks he doesn't have to be the number one pitcher anymore.

Randy Johnson hasn't been a good pitcher for several years. He was perfect for the Yankees - an over the hill, overpriced superstar who can't perform in the big game. He should have stayed with the Yankees.

I think that Randy Johnson is too old, too weak, his time has passed.
The diamondbacks are already falling behind and the Big Unit won't help them, they'd only pull him down with them

lol at fretzdawg. I think that when he goes back to the Diamondbakcs, he'll feel more at home, but he won't be the randy johnson of old. He'll win 12-15 games at most.

My perfect wager is that considering he reached three hundred wins, he will likely retire. He has performed each little thing he mandatory to. yet inspite of the indisputable fact that, really Randy can answer that question. And if he does not retire there is no assure he will be re-signed by the Giants. strong information for you and all Giants followers inspite of the indisputable fact that is they have the perfect pitching duo contained in the game with Lincecum and Cain. both of whom is a superb change for fashionable pitcher status.
