There are two very good programs available to help you remember passwords, especially if you have a lot of passwords for a lot of different websites and can't even remember what user name you used on each website. The programs are named Roboform and KeePass. Look them up with Google. They can keep your passwords secure, so nobody can hack them. If you just save passwords with Internet Explorer, they're easy for a hacker to steal.
RoboForm is the easiest to install and learn how to use, but it costs $29.95 if you want to use more than 10 passwords. It's free for fewer. KeePass is free, period.
Besides saving your passwords, they can also save you work. You can go to different websites and log in, with very few keystrokes. Roboform will remember how to get to each website, so you can usually just click one menu item then wait a few seconds while it goes to that website and logs you in.

I have a bajillion usernames and passwords, for a bajillion sites. I have them all written down on a piece of paper in my desk.
I DO NOT recommend storing them in a file on your comp.
BAD IDEA.
