computers don't get slow the - the speed it ran at when you bought it is the speed it runs at today
What happens is that people put more and more programmes on the computer and these programmes get larger and larger (plus newer progammes are written for faster computers) - the computer ends up having to do more and more work - and "slows" down

some reason is that your hard disk is getting full, there is not enough memory to run all the programs, too many programs running at once. Programs are probably running in the background that you may not even be aware of. clean up the hard disk, get more memory or a fast processor.
