what is the deal with all the homophobes being so obsessed with our lives and how we act or dress? why are they so worried about or lives and our community when so much is wrong in their own community?

A.I.D.S. reporting for 2005> at www.avert.org under stats by exposure category you will see that the estimated adult and adolescent HIV diagnosis in 2005 by exposure category in 33 states including california and new york that 18,772 gay men were diagnosed but that 4,333 straight men were diagnosed and 7,886 straight womwen were diagnosed for a total percentage of about 49.5% for gay men and 32.2% for staright men and women. those numbers are not very far apart and the cdc reported that for the whole state of california in all categories there were only 123,819 cases reported. the population of san francisco is 776,733. so even if all the cases in the whole state of california were those of san francisco the percentage would still only be about 16% (a little less really).

becauses many straght people take for granted that every day is 'Straight Pride Day' They never have to think twice about getting beaten up for holding their partner's hand while walking down the street. So when they see gay people doing it, its contrary to what they are used to, and some people just can't handle that. Lots of breeders say its shoving it down their throat, but frankly the truth of the matter is its the other way around by far. Watching televisition, advertistments, magazines, everyday life proves that heterosexuality is the 'norm' and god forbid if anyone ever dreams of endorsing a minority.
Its the same old story. Breeders fear what they don't understand, so they try to get rid of it.

What better way to make people forget your mistakes and problems then point them to "The Great Evil" in their nieghbour's house. Just look at the histories of these great and holy people who hate gays. They've been up to some naughty things. Ignore them, do what make you happy if it doesn't hurt anyone.

It's because they have nothing better to do with their lives than bother us, and it makes them feel good to try and feel superior to us because their sexuality is "better". Well I say to all of them that I wouldnt ever choose heterosexuality over bisexuality, even if I had the choice. I may have when I was unaccepting of myself, but not anymore and never will! I love myself for who I am.

I didn't know gay people had their own community. But I really don't care about other people as long as I know I am not gay. You also got to realize some gay people draw attention to themselves. I am not in no way homophobic but I don't think it right.

Why do people refer to others who hate gays as homophobes.?
The word homophobe is derived from the greek words homo and phobos.
It actualy means affraid of gays(phobos = fear). It is just wrong and I wonder who started this .
The people who hate women are misogynists (miso = hate) and is an acurate term.
They should be calling them misohomos instead of homophobes.
Most of the people that I talked to say that fear has nothing to do with it. They just find it discusting. So the argument that we hate what we fear does not stand
