well i think that the fact that others around you can have the same idea and not everyone just trying to disprove it and discourage that point of view means that at least we exist... for if others were to encourage you to discover that it was an illusion that would defeat the purpose, as you have said. although if one started to suspect that this was only an illusion, it might be natural for the brain to create those who would agree and trick them out of it using reverse psychology... a very interesting theory with many possibilities... most if not all of which cannot be proven or disproven... i say that yes, we are all here and exist... but then again I may be something of your own mind's creation, so it is up to you to trust me or not

In the absence of something there is nothing, in the absence of nothing there is something.
People try to rationalize the irrational, yet neither could exist without each other. Lets use a coin as an example. The rational is heads and the irrational is tails. Stand the coin up. Inbetween is where the two coexist.
What you are presenting is only the rational side, which is an aspect that everything including people only exist in your head.
You exist and everything outside your mind exists.
Edit: If this doesn't make sense to you, then grasp the fact that the whole foundational of mathematics is just a theory. Theories try to rationalize the irrational. Just because something is a theory doesn't mean it is true nor false.

Okay, first we'll go along with the idea that everything in the world that you see and hear is your manufactured perception. That means you, and you alone, is responsible for everything that you witness. It's akin to having a dream. We'll call that agent of this manufactured virtual reality "your mind", and I'm going to propose "Your mind A", and "Your mind B", for reasons I'll explain shortly. Everything that seems obvious and expected to you, we'll say it is a fabrication of "Your Mind A". Now, but you're surprised from time to time, coming across unexpected events and responses, such as mine right now to your question. Who imagined this? You had no idea what I was going to say and you still have no idea what I'm about to say, so it cannot be "Your Mind A", so it must be "Your Mind B", some shadowy part of your mind that is responsible for those things surprising "Your Mind A". Moreover, "Your Mind B" is autonomous from "Your Mind A", because it is capable of its own direction, how can "Your Mind A" claim control when it cannot even predict what it would do? The last piece of this argument comes in when I say that in fact "Your Mind B" is the rest of the world that you claim "Your Mind A" is responsible for. We're back to the usual dictotomy between "Yourself", and "Rest of Realtiy", and God is back in heaven.

Short answer: most likely, you exist.
Long answer: Of course we could all be deceived by our perceptions by our own minds or some outside source. The real question is the standard of evidence you use to determine what is real, and then what you choose to do about it. If your standard of admissible evidence is so high that nothing can ever prove reality is as it purports to be, then you cannot function in society. On the other hand, even if reality is a fiction presented to you, then there is likely nothing you can do about it, and you may as well treat that fiction as if it were reality. Thereby, there would be no difference between fiction and reality, and life as you know it would continue on as normal, so we might as well enjoy what we have.
On a side note: The Matrix was a great movie, wasn't it?

Boy you said a mouthful ha ha
You are alive and real in that body, do you use the toilet?
Yes right? There is your answer, if this was all a dream or programmed there wouldn't be any nessecity for sewers. We would have made away in our minds not to have that problem.
Also pain would not be in the picture. Pinch yourself, and see that it hurts right? So there you have it, alive and kicking. Death would not be an option either. With all the control freaks in this world and their relentless pursuit of everlasting life, think about it? They would not be looking so desperately if this was all an imagination.

Gabriel Marcel, the famous existentialist,
taught that the goal of life is true communion with the creator (spiritual ground, etc). Marcel argued that scientific thought had squeezed the life out of human experience, by replacing the "mystery" with a human life composed of perceived "problems" that needed "solutions."
