I'm entering a talent show and I don't really know what song to sing. I really want to win and usually slow songs get the prize. But I have no idea which one. I really need some help. Are there any good songs out there with a lot of vocalizing? And could you leave the song title and artist please.

I'm entering a talent show and i really have no idea what song to sing. I've considered singing Hero by Mariah Carey, but maybe there are some other good songs like that. I really want to win. Usually slow songs get the prize. I have really good vocal range, any suggestions, and please include the song title and artist.

There are a lot of good songs on the Camp soundtrack such as "How shall I see you through these tears" or perhaps something by Mandy Moore she has a couple of really good slow songs that would surely showcase a voice. If all else fails and your in a pinch choose something from the group of artists Celtic Woman they are fantastic and will surely have classics but with a more heartfelt twist. But above all choose something for your voice don't just sing what you like ask friends and family to lay the truth down and tell you which one is the best for your voice. Ultimately how comfortable the song is for you is what is most important.

To win a talent show... *suddenlyhappy* I know how to answer this well!
Normally judges adore songs by Celine Dion... or at least, at all the talent shows I have been in, that's what I see... so I suggest...
My Heart Will Go On -- Celine Dion
A New Day Has Come -- Celine Dion
There's also Sarah Mclachlan...
Building a Mystery -- Sarah Mclachlan
Possession -- Sarah Mclachlan
Fallen -- Sarah Mclachlan
Or possibly...
Half Acre -- Hem
There you go darlin'... ;xD

It depends on your vocal range. But here are my suggestions:
Hero - Mariah Carey
You Light Up My Life - Whitney Houston
Valentine - Martina McBride
I Turn To You - Christina Aguilera
Hurt - Christina Aguilera
Best of luck!

Seeing as you're living in the world where American Idol has dominated the media, I wouldn't recommend songs that have been sung on there many times.
What I would recommend are one-hit wonders.

Choose a song that you know well, that is in your range, and that fits your style. Instead of trying a song that's out of your reach, just choose a comfortable song and do it well. You'll blow 'em away.
