Using System Restore will not remove the virus. You can use Trend Micro's free web virus scanner. Trend Micro is one of the most trusted names in AV software for business. Use the link below, and good luck!

Restoring your computer to an earlier date should help, as while it isn't likely that the virus was intalled through the conventional installation process ( the primary thing that undoes) it should restore your registry such that the virus doesn't automatically start. Only do this in safe mode though, as if the virus is currently running when you attempt to restore, it will likely undo what good that does.

For that matter, there's a good chance if you boot into safe mode, and then run Norton antivirus, it will be able to remove it, as one of the primary reasons antivirus programs can't delete viruses is said viruses are running, safe mode doesn't run anything on default, whether virus or otherwise, so it wouldn't be running and that problem would be solved. Even if Norton can't clear it out, it shoudl give you the directory location of the virus so you can manually delete it in safe mode.

Well, usually if you get a virus that can't be repaired you can go to the Norton site and get the removal tool... Most are free. If your Norton is outdated and no longer in service for you get your windows firewall up. Removal tools for virus' can sometimes be gotten from your Internet Service Provider.

Hope this helps
GOOD LUCK

AVG is a free anti-virus software that u can find on the net easily.
I have use it and find it extremely reliable and in addtion, it provides free updates frequently, so you should have no worries abt not having the latest software to keep out and eradicate computer viruses And if it does not eradicate the virus problem in your computer, then you should go ahead and re-format your computer.

For good, free and recommended security programs, please go here

I recommend AVG as an anti virus, although eTrust's 12 month free trial is excellent (I'm using it and am extremely impressed).
If you need other programs, go for Zone Alarm firewall, AVG anti spyware (formerly Ewido) and SpywareBlaster.

If you click on the names in that list I gave you and it will take you to the official download site.

Please ensure that you keep them all updated for full protection and check for any updates when you first download them.
