WARNING--THIS METHOD MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR REGISTRY. Go Start, Run and type "regedit" in the Run menu without the quotes. On the Registry editor, select My computer on top of left pane, Click Edit, Find and Type Norton in the Find What box. Delete any reference to Norton when the search result come up. Press F3 key again to keep searching and delete anything relate to Norton. Keep doing this until there are no more results.

THERE'S ALSO A SAFER ALTERNATIVE : Download CCleaner here http://www.ccleaner.com/ and let the program do it for you. It's the safer method if you don't know anything about the Window Registry.

Difficult, but u can try typing "regedit" in Run command from the Start button, then find strings with "norton" and delete these. However, don't do this unless you're somewhat used to using computers, in particular Windows XP.
