I must have asked this Question to a bunch of bankers. The only answers I got were scolding. I never said I was ever charged these fees I only ask "Are you sick of be charged those outrages overdraft fee charges by the banks?" Then I went on to sate my opinion.
"I think this is against the law .It might fall under the usury act.
It only hurts the little people who can't afford to fight back .I would like to form a group to fight this abuse. Are you interested in helping?" This question became all about me and the way I run my bank account. I was not looking for a scolding from the banks and the staff that has to justify ripping off the poor people in this country. The best stupid answer I got was the bank is trying to teach us a lesson. Doesn’t mater that a large and I mean large amount of there income is derived from this ripe off fee. If you have a heart for the under paid hard working in this country lets get together and right this wrong.

wow..lucky you didn't have a gun

banks love to talk..when a person goes to a bank with a charge when a person says correctly one may have possibly get a credit back from the bank.

some banks (not all)..for great customers..will give a credit back

Bank of America has been great and when the local branch couldn't give a credit..the home office usually has...but not when I get all nasty...

i would refuse..your group..but if your thinking of a class action..I am sure some lawyer may take your cause..
in all likely ..they won't...(movie Myra Breckenridge)..so if you get all the people you could probably get a lawyer to take the class action.

my son-in-law uses a local bank.(in Chicago).and gets a $1 credit for every minute he is kept on hold..he loves to phone them..and keeps a timer handy........and always starts with "good day and i have been waiting for......this many minutes"..
banks love to deal and keep good and old customers accounts..

good luck

This is the reason Credit Unions have grown so fast. Now the banks are trying to push the Credit Unions back down.

I belong to a Credit Union and I do not get charged and overdraft fee. I do pay interest whenever I use my overdraft, but I don't pay a fee.

Yes, we can call it "the group of people that don't read their terms and conditions, and don't understand that an overdraft is spending money that they don't have" group. Why is it that people complain about these fees? Bottom line, if you don't want an overdraft fee assessed, don't write checks for more than what's in your account! Why should the bank front that money for you, with nothing to benefit them?

It is a part of being responsible. It is not about having heart, people need to be responsible for their actions. What happens if I wrote you a check for $500 that you needed ASAP for some reason, and when you cashed it there was not enough funds in the account. Someone should be punished for this

The banks are a monopoly run by the senate banking commission/Congress. They authorize everything, make all the fees legal. This country was built by little people who were taken advantage of...ya know people like you.
If you don't like it...buy a big fire and theft proof safe and keep your money in your house. Grow up and get a real job.

Hun, overdraft charges are NOT anywhere near as bad as credit card interest and i dont see you complaining about that. Are you sure your talking about overdraft and not bounced checks?
