I am thinking about being a pharmacist. What courses in college do I need to take? I heard that I can just go to college for 2 years and then go straight to a pharmacy school, is this true? So all I need is an associate's degree? Can someone clear this confusion? Do I only need to go 2 years of college then 4 years in a graduate school?

You do not need a bachelors at most schools. However, there is a trend towards having a bachelors. The chances of getting in as a pure community college student are very small. The prereqs in theory should take only 2 years, but some schools have so many prereqs that it will take 3 to complete. At my school 60% had a bachelors.
You'll have to take biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, anatomy, physiology, communication, physics, economics, general education, English as your prereqs.

Yes it is true for some pharmacy schools. You should go to pharmcast.org and look at the specific school requirements. Some schools you don't need a PCAT; Some schools require different classes. So you basically have to play the game and take the right classes for the specific school you want to attend. Good Luck!

most people major in chemistry and stay in undergrad for 3 years and then go to pharmacy school. but check into what school you want to go to and see what they require for you to be considered for acceptance.

Yes, this is possible. I had a friend who did this. HOWEVER, she had a flawless GPA and also had several years experience as a pharmacy technician. Know your chemistry, and know it well, especially your O-Chem. Best of luck to you!
