loud beep. I went to trouble shoot, then to control panel, add hardwar, then it asked me if i already connected the hardware, i said yes, then it asked what kind of device.. i dont know what to select...but I selected a couple of the ones that said audio...nothing worked. Plse help. My mom gave me this pc about a yr ago, and i still dont hear music LOL

Ive tried asking our fellow geek sqaud in Computers but ive only gotten one answer and its to somthing i have to pay for....so no im not in the wrong category

Did you choose them on the control panel? are they hooked up right? is the volume adjusted correctly? Sooo many things it could be

On XP you adjust the speaker settings by going to the control panel and click sound, speech, and audio devices.

The problem isn't the speakers, it is the soundcard or something in the system preferences. Make sure the sound is turned up to a decent level. When all else fails, call customer supporrt for your brand name computer. The number is in the owner's manual.
