Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe MoBo, AMD 64 X2 4600+ Socket 939, XFX 7600GT XXX Edition Video Card, 2Gb of Kingston RAM (4x512), and a BFG 650Watt Power Supply.

The Asus motherboard is very nice. The AMD processor can't touch the Intel Dual core but it's still not bad. The Nvidia card is a generation behind but it's still a great video card. 2GB of ram is the optimum choice but i would go with the Corsair ram instead of Kingston. The only thing that i really think you can do better is the power supply. I definitely would not use the BFG, i would use an Antec or PC Power&Cooling power supply instead. Nice overall upgrade.

most of these items are fine.. but the bets way to find out wether your stuff is any good or not... do your home work... There are thousands of reviews for motherboards..., read them for your board..

Some questions I would ask:

Do you really need 650 watts : Seems like alot
What about 2 1GB stick of Mem instead of 4 512MB is it Max'd @ 2 GB.
Is your video latest/greatest.... atleast 256MB I hope

When upgrading your system.... ask yourself..
how much are you willing to spend
What are you using for, networking/gaming/video

The AMD 64 X2 chips are solid
Asus do produce excellent board but have produced garbage.

Anywho... hope this helps

You would do well to go with 2x 1 GB Corsair DDR2 RAM.
Also the graphics card is quite old for an entusiast gamer a 512MB 7900 is good. i am pretty sure about that.

also check out the reviews on sites like www.cnet.com
