Best way is to use Methyl hydrate, not isopropyl alcohol. Methyl hydrate is the main component in Gas line antifreeze, you can purchase at an auto parts store. Or if you want to save money just go to your local hardware or home improvement store and go to the paint department and purchase Methyl hydrate. Half litre will treat 40 litres of fuel(petrol).

It depends on how much water is in your tank. If it is too much , then you will need to drain the tank. If it is just some (an ounce or so) then pour in some 100% alcohol (Methanol, isopropil whatever as long as ir is 200 proof). The alcohol will absorbe the water and you will burn it off. Do not put more than 20% alcohol to gas in your tank as it will burn out your valves. It you have a gas station which sells Ethanol, buy that and put it in. If it is under 20% ethanol, then any engine can handle that. If it is E85, then if you have a 10 gallon fuel tank, do not put more than 2 gallons of E85 in the tank with a fill of regular gasoline. I regularly fill up with gas which has a ethanol blend so I do not have to worry about that stuff.

Yep. Methanol will work, but it's best to use isopropyl alcohol instead and not the stuff you buy for a disinfectant, because thats stuff 70% water. An additive such as HEET (the stuff in the red bottle) should do the trick. Metho shouldn't be used as a first choice because it will lead to rust in the fuel system on some vehicles.

The best way is to have the tank removed, have it cleaned at a radiator shop, re-install it, and stick with a top quality gas from a gas station that has a constant turnover of gas.
