I am proud to be an American because we are the land of the brave and the FREE which means we have the freedom to not only ask but answer questions such as these. We don't have to hide from what we really think or feel or want to say. We don't have to worry about doing or saying the wrong thing and worrying that some government official will show up at our door and shoot us.

I used to be very proud to be an American. Very into my country and used to wonder how I was so lucky to be born here. But in the past few years I have been very embarassed and ashamed to the point that no I am no longer proud at all. With the high crime in pretty much every city, how screwed up our goverment is, the fact that everyone hates us because we have to get our noses in everything. The fact that how greedy people in this country are. Young girls are complaining and telling there parents that they hate them because the Rangerover they recieved for there 16th birthday was test drive used. Or all the celebrities paying thousands on a single dress. When there are kids who would be happy recieving a birthday cake for there birthday, and parents who would love to make a few thousand in an entire year, to support there family, since min wage gets you no where.
It's just pure embarassment and disgust.
Am I happy and proud that I can have freedom of speech for the most part? That for the most part I am free? Of course. But as much as it is made out, this is not the only country it happens to be like that.
At this rate. If things are still how they are a few years from now, if not worse, I do plan to move to Canada. A change of things. To see if things are how they are here, everywhere. I find it hard to believe that they are.

Are you kidding? Look what a great country it is. We have freedoms no other country can claim. Think how many people want to be here, legally, or otherwise. Have you ever heard Russia, or anyplace else having a problem with illegal aliens? Besides, look what we've done for humanity. We've led technology. Put a man on the moon. Given the world some of the greatest inventions in history, or made them better. We've saved the world from tyranny during WWII and otherwise. We gave the world the freakin' Big Mac! I'd be surprised(unless the Demoncrats get their way)if we didn't put a man on Mars someday. What isn't to like about America and lest I forget...we also have the Gateway Arch. Enough said.

You base a country's greatness on how many people are wanting to get in or get out. America is one where billions wish to go and live and I am proud that I was gifted enough by our maker to be born there. I am very proud to be an American.

I am not proud of anything I am by accident of birth. I feel advantageous that I was born in America. Lot worse places to live. Lot better too. I am proud of people who have fought to further the ideals that have made America a good place to live. I am proud of myself as an individual for the things i have worked hard for, but I am not proud because my mother squat and gave birth to me in some arbitrary boundary set up by humans. It was pure luck I was born here.

I support the freedom to be involved in religion and politics although I'm disgusted at the ignorance of the masses, the corrupt government and the evil foreign policy.
There seems to be a combination of good and evil in America.
