You are most likely to get pregnant if you have sex half way through the cycle, counting from the first day of the period. After ovulation, you cannot get pregnant, so the safest time would be the day before your period starts.

You have a lesser chance of getting pregnant right after your period, because you haven't ovulated yet. My mother used this method though, and 9 months later she gave birth to a baby boy..
Natural Family Planning (or going by you basal body temp) is not 100% fool proof, and always use protection. You should consider going on the pill if you don't feel like always having a condom around.
Hopefully you are just asking and haven't had sex after your period, but in case you did.. make sure you find out asap whether you are pregnant or not so that you can make a decision on what to do with the child. Best of luck!

Let's face it, sex without protection has a quality that is lacking when you have sex with some kind of protection. Having said that, when you consider ALL the potential problems that can come from unprotected sex (HIV, stds, etc) it is like playing Russian roulette. Both parties are pointing a gun at their heads (or at some other place) and pulling the trigger. Maybe it fires, maybe it doesn't. But who wants to take the chance. To be really safe, at least as safe as one can reasonably expect, begin a monogamous relationship with a test, use protection for six months, have another test and if the 6-month test is negative, then consider having unprotected sex. Problem is, if either of the parties strays, just once, it means starting all over again...if they're being honest. Stds are probably the best argument for monogamy I can think of. Nobody has demonstrated that god throws lightening bolts at promiscuous sex, but there is plenty of demonstration of disaster from unprotected sex. Now that is a reality.

1. You start your period (every time for every one, this part does not change) 14-15 days after u ovulate.
2. The only part of your cycle that changes is the beg part, before you ovulate.
3. If you are reg. lets say your perfect (this just does not happen soo) and your cycles are 28 days. that would mean you ovulate on day 14 of your cycle. If you do not just subtract 14 days from the beg of your current period and that is the day you should start on the next go around.
4. Sperm can last up to 72 hr in a fertile mucus environment (male sperm 48 female 72)

Unless you are planning to fall pregnant in a relationship, I think it is wise to always use protection at all times!! But in the middle of your cycle is the most crucial time to fall pregnant. If you have regular periods, this is easier to work out, but if you have irregular ones, you are at risk of miscalculating the high risk time, so good idea to always use protection and then you dont have to worry. Better safe than sorry.

First, let me say that unless you are married and are trying to get pregnant, you should never have unprotected sex. Don't forget about all the STD's.
Now to answer your question, you can really get pregnant at any time during your cycle but you are more fertile right before and when you ovulate, which happens about 2 weeks before you get your period. I only know because I was trying to get pregnant for a while.
Nevermind all that. Be smart. Be safe. WRAP IT UP!

You can always get pregnant, there is no time of the month that is "safe" but you have less chance of getting pregnant immediately after your period. Highest chance when you are ovulating about 12 to 16 days after your period, and right up until your next period.

It usually takes 2 weeks after starting your period for you to ovulate so if you had unprotected sex around the time of ovulation you could possible be pregnant. The only way to be sure is to take a pregnancy test around the time your next period is due or to have a beta hcg test done.

That is just an urban legend. You can get pregnant at ANY time. Even DURING your period. Why are you having sex without protection anyway? Are you a dirty whore or something? Going around raw doggin it like that. Pull up your pants and pick up a book or something. You'll thank me later when your 40 and DON'T live in a trailer park with 30 kids.

Well I dont know if this is a co-insidence or what but ive been preg. twice. Ive always been told your easiest time to concieve is 12-14 days from the first day of your last period. The first time I got pregnant it was on the 14th day and the second time was 12 days. ON THE DOT EACH TIME within those time frames. So, based by my experiences if you dont want to get pregnant avoid those days( I would avoid the10th-16th day) or if your trying, try those days especially.
