Yes I got that news thru Yahoo, tis really sad but I feel there had to be some exsisting problems for this child to begin with, but that is just my opinion. My heart goes out to the family very sad way to start the New Year or any time in life...

Sergio Pelico was just a 10-year-old fifth grader that lived in Texas who should have been either playing video games or hanging out with friends, but instead the boy was in his room mimicking Saddam Hussein's hanging which happened on December 31, 2006 after watching it on TV. The little boy apparently hung himself by tieing a slipknot around his neck putting it on his bunk bed according to reports.
Sergio Pelico was found dead Sunday in his apartment bedroom after watching a Spanish television news report Telemundo on the execution of the former Iraqi leader, said Webster Police Lt. Tom Claunch.
Claunch stated, "Our gut reaction is that he was experimenting."
Sergio Pelico's uncle Julio Gustavo was stated to have described him as curious and happy and that the young boy had watched news on TV with another uncle on Saturday and asked the uncle and other children about Saddam's death.
Gustavo states that the uncle told him it was because Saddam was real bad and the young boy replied, "OK," and that was the end of the discussion.
Gustavo says that he believed that his nephew didn't think it was real and why would they show on TV the noose getting put around Saddam's neck. "Why show that on TV?"
One of the kids noticed the Sergio Pelico was missing and his uncle found him dead in his room.
Police state that Sergio had been upset about not getting a Christmas gift from his father, but didn't believe he intentionally killed himself. Gustavo said Sergio Pelico father lives in New Jersey.
As for Sergio’s mother, Sara Pelico DeLeon, was at work during the time and her children were being watched by a relative when the body of young Sergio was found.
Currently there are plans to send Sergio’s body to Guatemala for burial once the family gets enough money together, his uncle Gustavo stated. Family members was said to have held a memorial for the boy Wednesday in the apartment complex activity center.
A fund has been set up at Bank of America. Donations can made at any branch in the name of Sergio Pelico.
In other news in Pakistan, a nine year-old boy hanged himself from a ceiling fan on January 1 also trying to copy hanging scenes from Saddam's hanging cellphone execution video. Read more on the Pakistan boy who accidentally hung himself.

I heard this tragic news today. I personally did not seek to watch the old man being hanged. I did go to the local website to read his final words. I did this because I am curious as to what may be going through ones mind just before you are executed.

Yes I read it on Google News. Just another reason why you should teach your kids not to do everything they see on TV. We'll probably start seeing more "Kids, don't try this at home" disclaimers now.

holy s***!! It's kids like these that need parents to sit them down and tell them not to try everything they see on TV, or just pay a little attention to their kids.
