It's probably not the cpu, it's more likely the hard drive, when you run certain programs that read and write a lot of data, the hard drive may make a lot of crackling noise, and this is normal and not something to worry about.

If the Cracking Sound is Like Kar..krrrr.. tacccc.. gruuu... means that its ur HardDrive Noice(form Drive Media).
i Recommend you to Take a Back up of your All data in DVD or any Removable Media and Change ur HardDrive..
