First of all we never knew when we are going to die.How ever You have raised an interesting question, let me try to answer the same,and I do hope this answer will satisfy you.
1.We really donot know why we are borne as human beings in this world .O.k. Lert us be happy non this note that we as human beings are better speicies compared to animals etc.
2.Having borne as Hiuman Beings in the world , we first know our mother tong in which we used to communicate with others.Why this has been termed as mother tong why not father tong?,because Mther is a persons who takes the child on her lap feeds and does every thing.Now before one dies his duty will be atleast give a small comfort to mother if she is alive if not pray for her soul in the grave yard,if that is also not available atleast pary for her and distribute some gifts on hert name to the poor.
3.Now other person is father who is primerly responsible for bringing us in to the earth.so same way the mother is trated let us treat father also.
4.Then comes the first Guru who taught us ABCD in the school.
He is also equally honourable and important in our life history ,so like I have mentioned in the above do the same thing for him
5.Now comes the religion and the allmighty and omni potent GOD
What ever religion you belong go to the prayer place and pray to him whole heartedly,thank him for all he has done to you.But No cursings. Because he is not responsible for our deeds of our life
If we do good results will be good.
6. Then comes the haves and havenots.If you belong to the
haves try to help the have nots
7. Now comes wife/husband and children,Try to full fill any left out wishes of them if you can
8. Now as a last lap comes your own hidden memories and sweet dreams.If you have done any sin in the past try to rectify the same, and with the sweet dreams enjoy.

there is lots to do before death comes for me. I have a cyber freind in the US that I would like to meet, also would like to spend a few months roaming around Prince Edward Island in the spring, summe, fall.
